- Daily Schedule: Part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week
- Benefits: Not eligible for medical benefits or paid leave.

Qualifications:

Issued Illinois Professional Educator License

Speech Language Pathologist Teaching or Non-Teaching endorsement is required

Master degree from a program accredited by the American Speech-Language Association is required

Ability to train students, staff, and parents on augmentative communication devices and assistive technology
Responsibilities / Duties:
-
Provide speech/language services to high school students.
-
Train students, staff, and parents on augmentative communication devices and assistive technology.

Coordinate or serve as a member of an educational planning team
-
Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication, language skills, and speech improvement.

Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy suggestions for student’s daily activities.

Increase parent's understanding and participation in resolving their child’s needs and informing them of appropriate resources available.

Responsible for writing and implementing individual education plans and goals, goal updates, and speech/language evaluations.

Attending IEP meetings, reevaluations, and evaluations as assigned.

Maintain accurate and timely records for the purpose of monitoring student progress.

Assesses student progress towards targets and standards for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and educational teams.

Understanding of various formal and informal assessment strategies and uses them to support the continuous development of students.

Perform such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education

Must perform all responsibilities, classroom and supervisory, in a professional manner as expected of all district educators.
The District:

The McHenry High Schools provide a comprehensive education for approximately 2,300 students.

The district has two four-year (9-12) high school campuses a mile and half apart.

Class scheduling is a traditional eight-period day, 45-minute class periods, and a 45-minute lunch.

Approximately 75% of our graduates attend post-secondary educational or vocational institutions

Voters approved a $44 million dollar expansion project in the fall of 2018 to build a state-of-the-art Center for Science, Technology, and Industry

Future plans include switching the educational structure to one 9th grade campus (East) and one 10-12 grade campus (West).
