- Calendar: 180 day / School-Year Employee + 10 summer days as assigned by the Principal

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Principal endorsement or equivalent administrative endorsement is required (formerly Type 75 certification). Or concurrent enrollment in an ISBE approved program.
- Five years of successful teaching or student services experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- An ability to foster positive student/school/community relations.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Communicate effectively with students, community, staff, and administration.
- Excellent work ethic.
- The ability to come to work on a regular basis and to be timely.
- The ability to attend evening and weekend events as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining effective programs to strengthen and monitor student discipline, attendance, and individual progress.
- Conduct conferences with parents and personnel regarding attendance, truancy, or discipline.
- Suggest alternative restorative means, new ideas, and different approaches to aid in achieving students’ success and improved educational goals.
- Ensure necessary disciplinary records are maintained for grade-level students.
- Follow-up regarding disciplinary determinations on students who were assigned consequences to ensure adequate support is provided to students and teachers.
- Participate in the implementation and finalization of disciplinary matters related to student violations of School Board Policy, Administrative Policy, and Student Handbook Policy.
- Attend grade level student personnel and multidisciplinary staffing for student placement in appropriate programs to meet the individual needs of the students.
- Supervise and assist staff in emergency situations including emergency drills to ensure compliance with State and school safety regulations.
- Assists in the orientation of all students and help to promote a positive culture in all students in order to develop a high degree of loyalty to the school and community.
- Assists in the control and supervision of extra-curricular activities.
- Assist with supervision and provide for the general welfare of students during the school year, on school trips, and during school activities.
- Assist and complete educational support staff employee performance evaluations as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with peers in sharing ideas, techniques, and procedures for improvement of the learning environment.
- Assist in school compliance with legal and regulatory requirements of the various governmental agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Comply with all district policies, rules, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
- Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
