Terms of Employment:

• Responsible to: Director of Special Services or designee
• Compensation: $35.00 per hour (effective 08/14/2023)
• Schedule: The schedule is variable based upon the needs of the students
• Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits or paid leave

 

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• High school endorsements are preferred
• Content are endorsements are required for tutoring in Honors and/or AP courses
• The license must be registered in McHenry County
• Ability to stimulate students to actively participate in the learning process
• Ability to work closely with other staff members

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide assigned homebound tutoring services to 9-12 grade students in various subjects as needed
• Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned 

 

Physical Requirements 

• Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed)
• Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
• Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting
