Summary: District 156 School Counseling Interns are members of a highly professional and invested team of student service personnel.  A District 156 Counseling Intern must demonstrate a keen awareness of and sensitivity to the issues facing young people and their families and understand implications for education of students with academic, social and/or emotional challenges.  To be successful in this role, School Counseling Interns must be able to function as members of a team and work collaboratively with department colleagues, deans, faculty, and other support staff, as they develop positive working relationships with students and families.
