Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to model high levels of character, integrity, best practices in teaching, appropriate professional demeanor, interactions, and conduct.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree required
- Active IL Registered Professional Nursing License
- Be a registered nurse with a minimum of two years of nursing experience; and have one year of experience as a nurse in one or both of the following areas: Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or
Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults; or
One year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services or direct care
- CPR Certified for healthcare providers
- Documentation of completion of an IDPH-approved specialized workshop, course, seminar or other approved training for instruction in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias equivalent to 4 CEUs or at least 4 CEUs approved by the ANCC or other appropriate approval authority.
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates time management skills.
- Background in department or building leadership is preferred
- Ability to travel to off-site healthcare locations
Responsibilities / Duties:
On-Site Supervision of Clinical Duties:
- Provides secondary leadership in teaching and learning for all members of the division.
- Broad knowledge of nursing at the CNA level with a solid grasp of applications in various healthcare settings.
- Ability to work with students and provide effective instruction in the clinical setting.
- Work in collaboration with the Program Coordinator to ensure appropriate coordination of the BNATP program.
- Conduct effective instruction and supervision in all assigned areas using approved course materials.
- Measure and evaluate student performance of required skills in the clinical setting.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Other relevant duties to meet the needs of our basic nursing assistant students.
Working Conditions:
- Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
- Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Exposure to noise and activity of a healthcare setting.
